Wedding vendor tips

When planning your big day, it’s often mind-boggling about where to start. So many things, so little time... right?

Fortunately, you don’t have to panic as organising everything and breaking it down will keep streamlined and stop you from feeling overwhelmed.

What do we need?

This is a personal and subjective question as every wedding couple will be different.

The only vendor you can’t go without is a celebrant.

To get your list kick started here are the vendors I see at almost every wedding :

Venue

Catering / Cake

Flowers

Styling ( Arbour, chairs ect )

Hair + Make up

Photographer

Videographer

Band, dj, entertainment

Picking the right vendors

When you are looking to hire services for your wedding always talk with multiple companies and find someone who meets what you want for that service, someone who makes you feel good, works with your vision and not just someone who fits in the budget.

Alongside that, it is always worth delving deeper to see what vendors can offer you apart from the basic packages. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or for something out of the “ordinary” ·

Some of my tips and tricks

.        With photographers and videographers, always ask to see some of their previous work. Taking a look at their portfolios will give you a sense of their style and help decide if it’s right for you. Still undecided ? Ask if they can do an engagement shoot, this is an awesome way to test drive these vendors and get some cool invitation photos.

·         As you meet with the caterer, never be scared to ask to sample some of the meals. Some meals are always hard to decipher without the taste test so trying the options will always tell you what works and what doesn’t. Cake sample boxes are always a fun time.

. Entertainment, bands will often have showcase nights you can attend. Seeing them in person will give you a good idea of the vibe they will bring to your wedding. In my opinion the entertainment can make or brake the vibe of your day.

·         Don’t be scared to check out reviews on social media. All services – be it a venue, photographer or limo hire – they will have reviews on Google or Facebook from previous clients.

. Ask a friend, personal experience is always a good place to start. Ask your friend who have been married who they used for different services and if they would recommend them.

Utilising these sorts of strategies will give you a much better impression of how they will help shape your wedding and pick the right services to hire for your big day!
