2022 Weddings, how will they look

It’s no secret that the world and our habits have changed. I have noticed this spilling quite heavily into the plans for weddings.

Here are some new trends for 2022

Colour is in and it’s beautiful.

The days of blush pinks and dusty blue will always hold a classic place in wedding pallets. Now I am seeing lots of vibrant or mixed colours and I’m loving it.

It’s an easy way to make your wedding more unique, fun a quirky. Give your bridal party the freedom to buy a dress they really love and be surprised on the day.

Turning it inside out

Outdoor weddings have always been a thing, we are so fortunate ti live in QLD where it never truly gets cold, well noting a huge smoky fire pit cant handle anyway.

In 2021 I saw the rise in venues offering outdoor options, restrictions are less in outdoor spaces and the vibe is always a very happy one.

Check out Caroline + Tom’s outdoor option below, it was a marque that you could open all the side panne’s but still seek shelter if there was a surprise QLD summer storm.

Less is more

Smaller weddings are definitely on the up. Couples are inviting their nearest and dearest given the possibility of a restriction being ordered last minute.

It’s been refreshing to see some of the social pressures leave wedding days and watch couples truly interact and enjoy the number of guests that attend. Quality over quantity

Animals at weddings

I’m not sure this is a new trend, we had Alfie at our 2019 wedding but I’m including it because it’s my favourite.

Including the animal that loves you unconditionally on your wedding day is the sweetest thing. They were probably your first big commitment as a couple and they deserve front row access at all times :)

Live stream

Probably another favourite trend is live streaming. I’m not sure why it took a global pandemic to start this trend.

The easiest and cheapest way I tell my couples is to set up a private Facebook group and you can have a guest go live in the group during the important times of the day. That way you can all go back and watch the videos and keep them.

Food

Don’t worry food is still a big thing at weddings. We have removed the grazing tables and they have been replaced with individual food cups. I think this is a welcomed change walking away with your own little boast of snacks sounds good to me.

Food trucks are still very big at weddings and always a great choice, you can get two different style trucks to satisfy all tastes.

Ditch the dress

More and more brides are opting to ditch the very expensive white dress that gets worn once. ( we have two gathering dust )

I love the idea of an alternative dress, it’s fun, personal and you can wear it again.
